Twenty eight years ago Kent Mickelson decided to enter the auction business without any ties to other auctioneers or anyone else. In a business that customarily passes generation to generation, he chose to take on all challenges that came with the territory. Starting early in his career, estate and antique auctions became his base to build on. That base has become reputation which brings his name up when families have need for an auctioneer. Auctioning antiques are certainly not the only type of auction that is conducted. If you are considering a disposal of personal property, an estate auction, antique auction, business liquidation, tool auction, or real estate sale, you should check with Kent Mickelson before making any choice of an auctioneer. Kent Mickelson believes the owner should be able to keep an amount that is fair and that is why you will find that his commission is far less than the competition.

Gene Gray, from Clinton, Missouri assists Kent with the auctioning duties. Gene has worked with Kent for four years. Like Kent, you will find Gene to be what you want in an auctioneer; experience, fair, honest and easy to get along with. They make a great pair! Diane Huckshorn from Belton, Mo. has been handling the clerking duties for a long time, having missed only a couple sales in 20 years. That’s loyalty! George Gurnett has been taking care of working the “ring” taking bids, shuffling furniture and helping customers. Our cashiering and computer “guru” is Cory Mickelson. Cory grew up in the auction business, helping early on, maybe age 10. Needless to say, he can do about everything. Cherry Mickelson will handle the day in and day out duties of the business. She will keep records, book appointments, handle auction setup, and ad placements. The mainstay of the business cannot go un-noticed and that would be “Mom” Merrilee Mickelson. She still helps out adding her 88 years of knowledge especially with antiques.
